Rating: 3/5
Plus Point: It's different story, comedy scenes, awesome choreography and superb acting of all.
Minus Point: Unnecessary songs and the pace before interval.
This movie has been in the news continuosly from months due to it's unique title. The whole movie revolves around three crazy people i.e., Bijlee (Anushka Sharma), Matru (Imran Khan) and Mandola (Pankaj Kapoor). Bijlee is the daughter of a rich businessman Harry Mandola who wants to build a car factory in his village. He tries to manipulate all the villagers to hand-over their land to government so that he can buy it from the government. Harry wants to leave his drinking habit which is his huge weakness. He hires Matru to keep an eye on his drinking habit as Matru was already in debt under Harry due to the loan his grandfather took for Matru's education but wasn't able to return.
Shabana Azmi plays the role of Chaudhari Devi who is a greedy politician and a big reason behind the unsucessfull politic carrer of Harry. Bijlee is a wild girl who just wants to enjoy her life. She plays a happy girl as her wedding gets fixed with Baadal and she thinks Baadal acn take care of her luxurious life. After sometime, she realises that Baadal isn't the right man for her and later on she falls in love with Matru. A lot of adventure's take place as the movie plays next.
Talking about the performaces, Pankaj Kapoor has done a great job playing the drunk Harry Mandola. Imran Khan is very impressive in his and does everything what the script needed. Anushka Sharma is back in her crazy style after Jab Tak Hai Jaan and looks very cute. In short, all the lead actors have done a fantastic job.
Verdict: Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola is a funny and interesting tale which deserves a watch. I am sure, you won't come unsatisfied from the theatre.

Concept is brilliant, execution is half-hearted . some one-liners were simply outstanding. Terrific performance by Pankaj, Shabana, Imran looked lost, Anushka gets repetitive. it is not in the same genre like Ishqiya and Kaminey. VB lost interest somewhere along is my assessment. Bottom line could have waited for official DVD release. One lesson for Imran and Anushka, they can learn about acting watching thespians at work.
